from new york city, this 4 guys play pop punk (like the names show) with catchy melodies and perfect chorus, bubblegum sound,all supervised by the cult pop-punk producer mass giorgini of squirtgun. over 35 minutes of freshness and teenagers atmospheres and themes(they treat in every song loves problems, like in a concept album) declaimed by a cool female voice. it's impossible to stop listen this album that remember a mix of screeching weasel and muffs but with a powerpop insight. pop punk's not dead.

crash box - [1984] - vivi!

crash box was an italian hardcore band active since 1983 until 1990, from milan. "vivi!" is their first work, but in spite of all, it is a masterpiece (like any their releases, really) of the italian sound of the '80. they were fast like the americans bands, their sound is dirt, but their minds were clear and their emotions too. beautifl and poetic lyirics in italian intertwines with much speed and genuin real attitude. rage, passion, speed and dreams.

white male dumbinance come from australia and "forced vengeance" is their first work. since by their name they make us know their position and attitude towards the aborigines theme, against their genocide and extinction. anti war and raging lyrics are mixed with a powerfull and very fast hardcore, approaching with powerviolence, 12 songs for 13 minutes. the crucial point and the strenght of this work is the power of the voice and their arranging. for fan of infest (they make "why don't you"cover), spazz and crossed out!

banda del rione - [1994] - quale destino per noi

banda del rione was an italian oi core band, coming from torino. "quale destino per noi" is their first and (unfortunately) only album. differently with others oi band, often repetitive both in musics and in the lyrics, this is an incredible album. 8 songs for a full immersion into their life(work, beer, loves, street adventure), their city(loved and hated) and their emotions(melancholy, nostalgia, memories). yes, the basic themes don't move away by the oi standards, but they deal with'em brightly, with passion, emotions and rage. they make me shudder.
for me the best and most intense italian oi band.

gang green - [1984] - sold out

gang green is a boston's hardcore band born in 1981. here there's no straight edge attitude or political lyrics(like in the rest of boston's hardcore scene; they were conservative, too), but only 4 guys that want to play fast, get drunk at every show, snort cocaine.

in spite of all, these guys with this ep(before they begun to play heavy metal) wrote the boston's hardcore history...only 3 songs for 4 minutes and 30 seconds, fast to the bone but with several change of rithm and atmosphere, a perfect '80 sound, and much much adrenaline. one perfect esemple of what american hardcore was. fast, crazy, real, careless.
